Wonderful Winter of Adventure!

March 25, 2019 Posted by Jodi Dew Claw News, Mushing, the Dogs, the Tours

Well with the onslaught of unseasonably warm weather up here it looks like our sledding season will not last long. But I like to think we helped make some memories that will.

Adventure is worthwhile in itself.

Amelia Earhart

Now I realize I am biased, but a mushing adventure is a unique experience.
It gives people the opportunity to really interact with the dogs, trail, and environment. At Dew Claw you will be traveling through the wilderness and seeing some of Alaskans natural beauty unavailable to those who stick to the roads. You travel quietly and exposed so you completely experience and appreciate the place you are traveling through.

We strive to provide our guests with a memory making experience. And good news, research even suggests there are benefits in planning, anticipating, enjoying, and sharing, these memory creating experiences. “Over the past decade, an abundance of psychology research has shown that experiences bring people more happiness than do possessions.” read more – “Buy Experiences, Not Things” So if you are wanting an experience to look forward to or thinking of planning a mushing adventure; let me share some motivational images to show you what awaits you. These fantastic photos were taken by Elmer Moll on a beautiful day trip in March.

“Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.”
– Samuel Ullman

So Mark was a bit more poetic, and used more tasteful language, but I have always loved how Jack said it. Either way they speak to the value of adventure, something all of us at Dew Claw whole-heatedly approve of. So start dreaming, planning, and get out there and adventure!

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”― Mark Twain

“Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.” – Jack Kerouac
