Hello all.
As the days start to melt together and my sleep cycle gets thrown completely out of whack I fear I am loosing the ability to string words together into coherent sentences. A good nights sleep awaits me after Dan departs Pelly; as we will sleep here tonight and head for Dawson first thing in the morning. But for now I think I will spare myself the effort of writing a blog. Instead, going with the idea that a photo is worth a thousand words, I will share with you a series of photos I took today at the Pelly Crossing checkpoint.
*Note: if you are just interested in Dan and the Dew Claw dogs scroll to the end for photos of him arriving in Pelly. But I am trying to get a good variety of mushers and scenes from the checkpoint to share, and I start with those.

Handlers use large sleds to carry away the straw they clean up, and transport gear to and from the trucks.

Teams getting ready to leave, Abbie is putting on booties & Cody Strathe is packing straw to take with so he can camp his team on the long run ahead.

The media, photographers, and bloggers all lined up and bringing the race to life for the folks watching along at home.

This qualifies as first class sleeping arrangements for handlers and volunteers, going to get a full 6 hours in a horizontal position tonight.
And now the photos of Dan~
