And if that headline isn’t enough to grab you…
there are videos!
The puppies are growing in leap and bounds, really. It is almost impossible to get good still photos of them. They grow in confidence and skills as well. An important part of every day are the multiple ‘puppy walks’ where we are already building the bond and understanding between us and the little Psychopaths. The benefits include gaining coordination, learning to travel as a group, exploring, and all the while learning to listen to us. Not to mention cuteness in wild abundance and a chance to play outside in this glorious new snow. (although in the name of full disclosure it was just as fun all fall, basically walking puppies is fun in any weather) If you are so inclined, “If Dogs Run Free” would be my recommended soundtrack, so cue the music and enjoy.
This litter is affectionately called the Little Psychopaths, Bundy, Ed Gien, H.H. Holmes, Dahmer, Manson, and Aileen Wuornos. We take them out 3 or more times a day, and unlike some chores (clean the kitchen anyone?) puppy walks are very popular with the humans around here. As they get older and more active the range of these walks has expanded from the front yard, to the big field, to the extended yard, and now all the way out to the new cabin trails. Of course the house dogs join in, Trout is especially sweet playing with them.
I already mentioned how next to impossible it is for me to get good photos of them. Might be me, might be my old camera, might be the fact that the Psychopaths barely stand still.
But the other day with fresh snow on the ground we decided to try something.

But with a twist. First you have Dan’s perspective, which is a great up close and personal view of releasing the puppies for walk. Then you have me filming Dan filming the puppies. When you watch them you can see that we are both filming the same thing, but from such different perspective. Of course even this joint filming effort falls short of really capturing the pure joy of the chaos that is puppy walks, but we hope it gives you a feel for it.
Here is Dan’s close up, slow mo shot:
And then this one of me filming him filming them:
And lastly some video from mid-walk of the whole crew heading down the trail.
