At Dew Claw we always make choices based on the dogs’ best interest, and this is also our motivation in choosing to re-home dogs. There are many reasons we may be looking for a new home for a specific dogs. There are really great dogs that are better suited to something other then the long distance races we train for. There are older dogs that no longer race with the main team. And in those cases we try to find a situation better suited to that dog, where they can continue to be active but at a level or type of activity that fits them better. Dew Claw dogs have gone on to become everything from pampered couch potatoes, and recreational camping and ski-jor companions, to running in all kinds of races. We also have a dog yard dedicated to retired dogs at the kennel. So dogs born here run with us, and live with us; unless we can find someplace even better for them.
Currently we have a few dogs available to the right person. If you are seriously interested in becoming the parent of a Dew Claw dog contact us to learn more.

Panda: born 8/06
Panda is a sweet little girl, with lots of fast energy. She has trained but never raced with us. She is on the small side. She has been used for recreational camping and ski-jor trips. She is super friendly and very good natured.
Parka and Devilfish: born 4/03
This brother and sister pair have been running with the race team, and have multiple race finishes under their belts. They are very well socialized and have tons of camping experience. Devil is a neutered male, Parka a spayed female. They are both ready to be in a team that is not training for and running 1000 mile races. With their attitude and experience both would be excellent for a recreational musher or junior team.
These dogs have all been inside but are primarily outside dogs, and would need a place with appropriate outside space, as well as an owner familiar with working sled dogs. More photos below.
