Last Full Moon of 2019

December 16, 2019 Posted by Jodi Dew Claw News, Mushing, Random Rambles, the Dogs

“We ran as if to meet the moon.”
― Robert Frost

Running into the night with 2 race teams as the full moon came up is about as good as it gets. This was some footage Dan got with his phone as he caught up with Jodi.

“The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished.”

Everyday Tao: Living with Balance and Harmony

As work continues on building projects, team training, trail work, and dog care we are all getting very excited for our guests to start arriving. At Dew Claw we provide private overnight camping trips, and multi day mushing boot camps; giving us the ability to tailor trips to our guests abilities and requests. Bookings for overnight camping trips are filling, so consider booking now to get preferred dates. *click here for more information

This year we have been joined by the amazing Jenn and Jeff, and they have blow us away with how quickly they are tackling new all the new challenges that come with moving to a dry cabin in Alaska and learning how to care for a kennel and run distance sled dogs. Jeff has been kind enough to share some of his photography with us and over the winter you can expect to see his perspective here and at Dew Claw Kennel Facebook.

Short sunlight days are prime time for some stretching.

Hearty meals to finish the day.
