The Take-out litter has moved outside and is ready to start exploring the world, and I have to tell you… it is adorable! Wonton, Kimchi, Sushi, Nori, Egg Roll, TomYum, and Fried Rice are on the move!
Thanks to lots of attention from some wonderful guests this season both litters of puppies are becoming super friendly and well socialized. And daily walks helps teach them to stick around us, and come when they are called. They are also learning their names. We have a small network of snowmachine trails around the property. Snowmachines haul firewood, move gear around, bring water jugs to the sauna, and in the process make a lovely little trail system; perfect for leader training and puppy walks. Along with recall and learning their names they are also getting more athletic and gaining confidence. By following Phoenix aka Mom or other dogs around they are learning skills as well. Important life lessons, like it is easier to travel on the packed trail. I shot a little video to show some of the recall training we are doing with the little puppies.Have to say watching these young dogs from they day they are born, grow into adults and eventually come together as a working team is one of my favorite things about mushing. And this evening as I ran a team which included the Take Out Litter’s aunts and uncles under a brilliant moon I could not help but think how very lucky I to work with these amazing dogs.
